ITALY - OPEN CALL FOR SINGERS AND COMPOSERS FROM ABROAD

- NEW MUSICIANS FOR A NEW HARP -



Duccio is the Italian inventor of a new harp, that is completely different from the traditional ones, allowing musicians to arrange songs for unplugged version, or to compose new songs for a band, in all musical genres.

In the year 2007 Duccio exhibited the harp (with Italian patent and international patent pending) at events in Frankfurt (Musikmesse, March), Cologne (Cologne on Pop, August) and Berlin (Popkomm, September); in January 2008 at MIDEM in Cannes.

Courses in Italy will start early this summer and according to the project this is an open call to find singers and composers interested in using the new harp for their music.

With a small amount of Euros every artist, joining the School, can buy a “One Week Full Immersion in Italy”, where, he/she will be given board and lodging, will build his/her own harp with the help of technicians, and have lessons, as well as meet other musicians from different countries, to start cooperating as an International School.

Courses (and holidays!) will take place at the “Chalet Pineta” in Cevo (Brescia-Italy), totally booked for the School, in the following weeks:

14th -21st June 2008 (four harps)

2nd -9th August 2008 (four harps)

The full cost of the course is of approx. Euros 2.000,00 per person, including meals and accommodation in the Chalet, lessons on the harp, and being provided with a brand new instrument.

You should add Euros 350,00 for a second person sharing the room with the singer, always with meals included.

On request payment can be made up to 50% in CDs already produced by the artist, to be sold at Chalet and other venues, during performances to be held in the week (4 artists + Duccio = 5 performers with 3-4 songs each).

The Chalet is situated at 1,100 (asl), in the wonderful landscape of a Regional Park in the North of Italy, in a field at the entrance of a majestic wood; the Chalet has three double rooms and a single one, and venue capacity for 250 people, for the first live performance.

The second performance will be held in Brescia in the wonderful little venue of the “Museo Degli Strumenti Musicali”.

The third performance will take place in a different venue nearby.

Artists singing live should be able to perform with a recorded base.

For accompanying friends, there is a camping site (with bungalows available too) next to the Chalet.

Remember that in the School there will be people from all over the world, working on the project in the experimental part of it.

Unfortunately Duccio is not in the position to cover any fees, travel expenses or other costs, so think carefully about this opportunity to invest some money on your holyday in Italy with a future as a singer and composer with a new musical instrument.

You will work with the harp, on exclusive authorization of the inventor and the School, for the country you live in, with international performance to be developed in the future by the School.

In the course of a few months, the School will be able to create a CD compilation with all the best songs (yours included!!) produced on the new harp, by members of the School.

For courses singers will have to decide on four songs they will sing and play in the future (if possible two representative of their country and two of their own creation), to start working, with the teacher, on arrangements with the new harp.
